Brief History of Vaal Triangle Chapter
All chapters did bear different names during inception of the National Association of Yoruba Descendants Southern Africa, and Vaal Triangle Chapter is also inclusive. The chapter was formally formed in 2009 having over 25 members, as Hon. Awe Olayinka was elected the Pioneer Chairman and later Hon. Olabisi when the pioneer chairman was elected as pioneer National Public Relation Officer in 2010, as Prince Adedapo Adesanmi became the pioneer President of NAYDSA.
NAYDSA Vaal Triangle Chapter is a vast recognised association in Vaal with their nature of reaching out to the needy and old age home, to the extent that the chapter was publicized in the Vaal Newspaper. The Chapter gave birth to Klerksdorp Chapter through Hon. Adetunji Okebunmi who was once Vaal Triangle Chapter Assistant General Secretary.
Vaal Triangle being one of the vibrant chapters in NAYDSA had hosted National programmes such as National Election and General Assembly in June 2023, as well as various events at chapter level which made the chapter relevant in her jurisdiction.
The chapter presently holds two vital positions at the National level: National Protocol Officer held by Hon. Amos Olayinka Awe, and National Assistant General Secretary held by Hon. Kehinde Joseph Olaniyan, enabling the chapter to contribute positively to the development of NAYDSA.
Presently the chapter is in attendance of about fifteen good standing members.
History by Hon. Olayinka Awe.
